Kirstin Asher has a life long love of people and landscape photography with her primary focus honed on the special storytelling magic that love and connection between people can offer. As well as the solace, inspiration and homecoming that be found in the open spaces of our beautiful Mother Earth.
Kirstin’s maiden name was Radasch when she showed her work first in coffee shops, galleries and festivals at age 16. At age 19, she opened up the first of two commercial studios in the Bay Area, naming her new business “Photography by Kirstin” at the kitchen table with her supportive single mom. At age 21 she quickly became known for specializing in high end weddings while winning awards with local and national photography organizations such as PPA and featured several times in WPPI’s yearly International Photography Awards books.
Kirstin married into the Asher family in her thirties, and moved to a beautiful retail gallery space in the heart of the north Berkeley gourmet getto area. It was there that Kirstin transitioned from weddings to fine family portraits and renamed her studio “ArtVisions Portraiture.” After 20 successful years in that location, she went on sabbatical in 2016 to spend more time with her family.
Kirstin Asher is now re-emerging primarily as a landscape photographer, and will soon be on Etsy with her new website and wall art for sale. The chapters just keep unfolding during Kirstin’s life long love of photography, and within the endless beauty of nature that she loves to share with others.
